Meghan Swad
Meghan has been riding and showing horses since she was nine years old when she started at Candy Apple Farm. She spent her first decade showing on the local hunter circuit and being very involved in her local 4-H. As a teenager, Meghan regularly took horses to rated and state shows and was elected President of her large 4-H group. Meghan also organized and help run an annual horse show for a local non-profit. In college, Meghan became very involved in her college's IHSA show team and was elected President her Junior and Senior years. She helped grow her school's team from 13 members to over 50 members. Meghan received training in Hunt Seat, Western Horsemanship, and Dressage from Hidden Hollows Farm during her college years and won High Point awards at IHSA shows. After college, Meghan continued her training in Columbus until she decided that it was time to open her own farm.
Kaitlin Johnson
Kaitlin has been involved in horses since she took her first lesson at 6 years old. Kaitlin spent 12 years at Candy Apple Farm in northeast PA showing various horses in local and rated shows. Kaitlin also was a member of her local 4-H where she took numerous horses to state competitions. After high school, Kaitlin attended Wilson College where she became a member of their prestigious hunt seat and eventing equestrian team. While competing here, Kaitlin excelled in the IHSA show ring. Kaitlin graduated in 2007 with her Bachelors in Equine Science and Barn Management. Kaitlin is a fantastic instructor and is a confident trainer, especially when it comes to off the track Thoroughbreds.
